Every article of clothing also carries a enriching and social meaning. Human beings are the only creatures known to wear clothing, with the exemption of pets clothed by their owners. People also decorate their bodies with makeup or foundation, perfume, and other ornamentation; they also cut, dye, and organize the hair of their heads, faces, and bodies, and sometimes also mark their skin. All these streamers contribute to the overall effect and message of clothing, but do not constitute clothing per se.

Articles carried rather than worn are normally counted as fashion garnishing rather than as clothing. Jewelry and eyeglasses are usually counted as accessories as well, even though in general speech these items are described as being worn rather than carried. The practical function of clothing is to protect the human body from dangers in the surroundings: weather, insects, noxious chemicals, weapons, and get in touch with with abrasive substances, and other hazards. Clothing can protect against many things that might injure the naked human body. In some cases clothing protects the environment from the clothing wearer as fine.

Humans have shown intense inventiveness in devising clothing solutions to practical problems and the difference between clothing and other protective equipment is not always clear-cut. The most popular pets are noted for their loyal or playful characteristics, for their attractive appearance, or for their song. Pets also generally seem to provide their owners with non-trivial health benefits; keeping pets has been shown to help relieve stress. There is now a medically-approved class of therapy animals, mostly dogs, who are brought to visit confined humans. Walking a dog can provide both the owner and the dog with exercise, fresh air, and social interaction.

Koko the gorilla is one of few examples of a non-human animal which has had an explicit pet. Using sign language, she requested a cat; her first pet was a kitten named All Ball, to which she was reported to be quite attached and mourned for several days after the cat escaped and was killed by a car.

The GloFish is a genetically modified fluorescent zebrafish with bright red, green, and orange fluorescent color. A non-toothed wheel can transmit some tangential force but will slip if the force is large; teeth put off slippage and permit the transmission of large forces.

A gear can mesh with any device having teeth friendly with the gear's teeth. Such devices include racks and other non-rotating policy; however, the most common condition is for a gear to be in mesh with another gear. In this case revolution of one of the gears necessarily causes the other gear to rotate. In this way, rotational motion can be transferred from one position to another. While gears are sometimes used simply for this reason to transmit rotation to another shaft perhaps their most significant feature is that, if the gears are of asymmetrical sizes, a mechanical advantage is also achieved, so that the rotational speed, and torque, of the second gear are dissimilar from that of the first. In this way, gears provide a means of increasing or decreasing a turning speed, or a torque.

Historical perspective

Based on the available evidence, scientists have reconstructed detailed information about the planet's past. Earth is estimated to have formed approximately 4.55 billion years ago out of the solar nebula, along with the Sun and other planets. The moon formed relatively soon afterwards.

Initially molten, the outer layer of the planet cooled, resulting in the solid crust. Outgas sing and volcanic activity produced the primordial atmosphere. Condensing water vapor, augmented by ice delivered by comets, produced the oceans. The highly energetic chemistry is believed to have produced a self-replicating molecule around 4 billion years ago.

Continents formed, then broke up and re-formed as the surface of Earth reshaped itself over the course of hundreds of millions of years, occasionally combining to make a super continent. Roughly 750 million years ago, the earliest known super continent Rodinia, began to break apart. The continents later recombined to form Pannotia which broke apart about 540 million years ago, then finally Pangaea, which broke apart about 180 million years ago.

Education

Education encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, positive judgment and well-developed wisdom. Education has as one of its fundamental aspects the imparting of culture from generation to generation. Education mean 'to draw out', are facilitating realization of self-potential and latent talents of an individual. It is an application of pedagogy, a body of theoretical and applied research relating to teaching and learning and draws on many disciplines such as psychology, philosophy, computer science, linguistics, neuroscience, sociology and anthropology.

The education of an individual human begins at birth and continues throughout life. Inductance is an consequence which results from the magnetic field that forms around a current carrying conductor. Electrical current through the conductor creates a magnetic flux relative to the current. A change in this current creates a change in magnetic flux that, in turn, generates an electromotive force that acts to oppose this change in current. Inductance is a calculate of the generated emf for a unit modify in current. An inductor with an inductance of 1 henry produces an emf of 1 V when the current through the inductor changes at the rate of 1 ampere per second. The number of turns, the area of each loop/turn, and what it is wrapped around influence the inductance.

An inductor opposes changes in the current. An ideal inductor would offer no resistance to a constant direct current, however, only superconducting inductors have truly zero electrical resistance. Inductors are used expansively in analog circuits and signal processing.

Television

Television is a widely used telecommunication system for broadcasting and getting moving pictures and sound over a distance. The term may also be used to refer unambiguously to a television set, programming or television communication. The word is derived from mixed Latin and Greek roots, meaning "far sight”.

Commercially available since the late 1930s, the television set has become a common household connections device in homes and institutions, particularly in the First World, as a source of leisure and news. Since the 1970s, video recordings on VCR tapes and later, digital playback systems such as DVDs, have enabled the television to be used to view recorded movies and other programs.

A television system may be made up of various components, so a screen which lacks an internal tuner to receive the televise signals is called a monitor rather than a television. A television may be built to receive different broadcast or video formats, such as high-definition television, commonly referred to as HDTV. HDTV costs more than common TV but is becoming more available.

Rainbows

Rainbows can be observed whenever there are water drops in the air and daylight shining from behind a person at a low height or angle. The most fabulous rainbow displays happen when half of the sky is still dark with draining clouds and the viewer is at a spot with clear sky in the direction of the Sun. The result is a incandescent rainbow that contrasts with the darkened background.

The rainbow effect is also commonly seen near waterfalls or fountains. Rainbow fringes can sometimes be seen at the edges of backlit clouds and as vertical bands in distant rain or virga. The effect can also be synthetically created by dispersing water droplets into the air during a sunny day. seldom, a moonbow, lunar rainbow or night-time rainbow, can be seen on strongly moonlit nights. As human visual sensitivity for colour is poor in low light, moonbows are often perceived to be white.

You can create your own rainbow by facing 180 degrees from the sun and spraying mist from a garden hose in front of you in a circular motion, outlining a 360 degree "rainbow".

It is difficult to photograph the complete arc of a rainbow, as this would require an angle of view of 84°. For a 35 mm camera, a lens with a focal length of 19 mm or less would be required, whilst most photographers are only likely to have a 28 mm wide-angle lens. From an aeroplane, one has the opportunity to see the whole circle of the rainbow, with the plane's shadow in the centre. This incident can be confused with the glory, but a glory is usually much smaller, covering only 5°–20°.

Music

Music is an art form consisting of sound and calm. Elements of sound in music are pitch, rhythm, dynamics, structure, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture.

The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of music diverge according to culture and social context. Music ranges from strictly organized compositions, through improvisational music to aleatoric forms. Music can be divided into genres and sub-genres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often fine, sometimes open to character construal, and occasionally divisive. Within "the arts", music can be classified as a performing art, a fine art, or an auditory art form.

Music is composed and performed for many purposes, ranging from artistic pleasure, religious or traditional purposes, or as an entertainment product for the marketplace. Recreational musicians compose and perform music for their own pleasure, and they do not attempt to receive their income from music. Professional musicians are employed by a range of institutions and organisations, including armed forces, churches and synagogues, symphony orchestras, broadcasting or film production companies, and music schools. As well, professional musicians work as freelancers, seeking contracts and engagements in a variety of settings.

Although recreational musicians differ from professional musicians in that amateur musicians have a non-musical source of income, there are often many links between amateur and professional musicians. Beginning amateur musicians take lessons with professional musicians. In community settings, advanced amateur musicians perform with professional musicians in a variety of ensembles and orchestras. In some rare cases, amateur musicians attain a professional level of proficiency, and they are able to perform in professional performance settings.

Religion in US

Among "developed nations", the US is one of the most sacred. According to a 2002 study by the Pew Global Attitudes Project, the US was the only developed nation in the analysis where a majority of citizens reported that religion played a "very important" role in their lives, an outlook similar to that found in Latin America.

A 2001 survey found 15% of the population to have no religious attachment, still significantly less than in other postindustrial countries such as Britain (44%) and Sweden (69%). Judaism is the second most prominent religion, with estimates ranging from 2.8 million (or 1.4% of the population) to 4.3 million (or 2.5% of the population). Other minority religions include Islam (about 2.4 million, or 0.6% to 0.7%), Buddhism (0.5% to 2%), Hinduism (0.4%), and Neopaganism (mostly Wicca; 1 million to 10 million; 0.5% to 4%).

Several of original 13 colonies were established by English settlers who wished to devotion their own religion without prejudice: Pennsylvania was established by Quakers, Maryland by Roman Catholics and the Massachusetts Bay Colony by Puritans. The United States was one of the first countries in the world to enact a separation of church and state and freedom of religion. Modeling the provisions concerning religion within the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, the framers of the United States charter rejected any religious test for office, and the First Amendment specifically denied the central government any power to ratify any law respecting either an establishment of religion, or prohibiting its free exercise. The framers were mainly influenced by Enlightenment ideals, but they also considered the sensible concerns of minority religious groups who did not want to be under the power or manipulate of a state religion that did not represent them.

Forest

A forest is an area with a high density of trees. There are many definitions of a forest, based on various criterion. These plant communities cover in the region of 9.4% of the Earth's surface (or 30% of total land area) and function as habitats for organisms, hydrologic flow modulators, and soil conservers, constituting one of the most important aspects of the Earth's biosphere. Historically, "forest" meant an uncultivated area legally set aside for hunting by feudal nobility, and these hunting forests were not essentially forested much if at all (see Royal Forest). However, as hunting forests did often include substantial areas of woodland, the word forest ultimately came to mean wooded land more generally.

Forests can be found in all regions capable of sustaining tree growth, at altitudes up to the tree line, except where natural fire frequency is too high, or where the atmosphere has been impaired by natural processes or by human behavior. As a general rule, forests conquered by angiosperms (broadleaf forests) are more species-rich than those conquered by gymnosperms (conifer, montane, or needleleaf forests), although exceptions exist (for example, species-poor aspen and birch stands in northern latitudes).

Forests sometimes contain many tree species within a small area (as in tropical rain and temperate deciduous forests), or relatively few species over large areas (e.g., taiga and arid montane coniferous forests). Forests are often home to many animal and plant species, and biomass per unit area is high compared to other vegetation communities. Much of this biomass occurs below-ground in the root systems and as partially decomposed plant detritus. The woody constituent of a forest contains lignin, which is relatively slow to crumble compared with other organic materials such as cellulose or carbohydrate.

Earthquake

An earthquake is the result of a sudden release of stored energy in the Earth's outer layer that creates seismic waves. Earthquakes are accordingly measured with a seismometer, generally known as a seismograph. The magnitude of an earthquake is conventionally reported using the Richter scale or a related instant scale. At the Earth's surface, earthquakes may manifest themselves by a trembling or displacement of the ground. Sometimes, they cause tsunamis, which may lead to loss of life and annihilation of property.

An earthquake is caused by tectonic plates getting stuck and putting a damage on the ground. The strain becomes so great that rocks give way by breaking and downhill along fault planes. Earthquakes may occur naturally or as a result of human actions. Slighter earthquakes can also be caused by volcanic activity, landslides, mine blasts, and nuclear tests. In its most generic intelligence, the word earthquake is used to describe any seismic event—whether a natural phenomenon or an event caused by humans—that generates seismic effect.

Communication

Communication is a process that allows organisms to exchange information by several methods. Communication requires that all parties understand a common language that is exchanged. There are auditory means, such as speaking or singing, and nonverbal, physical means, such as body language, sign language, paralanguage, touch, eye contact, or the use of writing.

Communication happens at many levels (even for one single action), in many different ways, and for most beings, as well as certain machines. Several, if not all, fields of study dedicate a portion of attention to communication, so when speaking about communication it is very important to be sure about what aspects of communication one is speaking about. Definitions of communication range widely, some recognizing that animals can communicate with each other as well as human beings, and some are narrower, only including human beings within the parameters of human symbolic interaction.

Nonetheless, communication is usually described along a few major dimensions:

1. Content (what type of things are communicated)
2. Source (by whom)
3. Form (in which form)
4. Channel (through which medium)
5. The branch of meteorology in which exhaust are studied is nephology.

On Earth the condensing matter is typically water vapor, which forms small droplets or ice crystals, typically 0.01 mm in diameter. When surrounded by billions of other droplets or crystals they become observable as clouds. Dense deep clouds exhibit a high reflectance throughout the visible range of wavelengths: they thus appear white, at least from the top. Cloud droplets tend to scatter light professionally, so that the intensity of the solar radiation decreases with depth into the cloud, hence the gray or even sometimes dark exterior of the clouds at their base. Thin clouds may appear to have acquired the color of their environment or background, and clouds illuminated by non-white light, such as through sunrise or sunset, may be colored accordingly. Human-made analogs of life may also be considered to be life.

The biosphere is the part of Earth's outer shell -including air, land, surface rocks and water - within which life occurs, and which biotic processes in turn alter or transform. From the broadest geophysiological point of view, the biosphere is the global ecological system integrating all living beings and their relationships, including their interaction with the elements of the lithosphere, hydrosphere (water), and atmosphere (air). Currently the entire Earth contains over 75 billion tons (150 trillion pounds or about 6.8 x 1013 kilograms) of biomass (life), which lives within various environments within the biosphere.

Cattle

Cattle, colloquially referred to as cows, are disciplined ungulates, a member of the subfamily Bovina of the family Bovidae. They are raised as livestock for meat dairy products (milk), leather and as draught animals. In some countries, such as India, they are honored in religious ceremonies and revered. It is expected that there are 1.4 billion head of cattle in the world today.

Cattle were originally known by Carolus Linnaeus as three separate species. These were Bos taurus, the European cattle, including similar types from Africa and Asia, Bos indicus, the zebu, and the extinct Bos primigenius, the aurochs. The aurochs is ancestral to together zebu and European cattle. More newly these three have increasingly been grouped as one species, sometimes using the names Bos primigenius taurus, Bos primigenius indicus and Bos primigenius. Complicating the matter is the capacity of cattle to interbreed with other closely related species. Hybrid individuals and even breeds exist, not only between European cattle and zebu but also with yaks, banteng, gaur, and bison, a cross-genera fusion. Cattle cannot effectively be bred with water buffalo or African buffalo.

College

Every day we must take decisions that affect our lives. To choose a college is one of the very most important decisions in life, exceeded only by the choice of a wife or a husband. By looking the decision through financially speaking, college can easily be the second largest expenditure in life, surpassed only by the cost of a house. For four years the colleges’ cost far more than the average expense of a house in some states. College is just more than a preparation for a career. By Often, the person who graduates becomes a different person from what he or she was as an entering first year student. Furthermore, the imprint of a particular college or university can remain for life. After some decades later, people may say knowingly, "He was a “hawk,” or “She went to Monmouth University. And also for better or worse, the choice of a college has lifelong implications.

To choose a right college was a very stressful process. Another important factor in choosing college was looking for in a college, was that I was receiving a good education for a reasonable price. It will cause you to grow as an individual and learn to become more independent. The process may help you to believe in yourself and in your abilities.
Choosing a college is a biggest decision in your life. You have to go through the whole process by yourself receiving assistance only when needed. Choosing a college may impact your life immensely. What helps to make the process much easier was narrowing your search down to the colleges that possesses qualities for which you were looking. Some are energetic and, in shallow water, disclose their presence by blasting steam and rocky fragments high above the surface of the sea. Many others lie at such great rock bottom that the tremendous weight of the water above them prevents the explosive discharge of steam and gases, although they can be detected by hydrophones and staining of water because of volcanic gases. Even large submarine eruptions may not disturb the ocean surface. Because of the rapid cooling effect of water as compared to air, and increased buoyancy, submarine volcanoes often form rather sharp pillars over their volcanic vents as compared to above-surface volcanos. In due time, they may break the ocean surface as new islands. Pillow lava is a common eruptive product of submarine volcanoes.

Electronics

Electronics is the learn of the flow of charge through different materials and devices such as, semiconductors, resistors, inductors, capacitors, nano-structures, and vacuum tubes. It was introduced in the 1980s by Roland firm for synchronization of music sequencers, drum machines, arpeggiators and similar devices. The SYNC standard uses the signal device and start/stop. This means the low position is 0 V, the high position is about +5 V. The clock signal defines the speed of the progression or drum pattern.
The start/stop signal defines if the sequence is successively ie;start/stop = 0 V -> stop, start/stop = +5 V -> running. The SYNC standard uses 5 pin DIN connectors, the same as used for MIDI, but uses a special pin-out. The term DIN sync does not mean that it is a DIN normal, only that it uses DIN connectors. In some applications the outstanding pins (4 and 5) are even used as tap, fill in or reset and start. But this differs from machine to device. To connect two SYNC devices a cable with a 3 or 5 pin plug up on each side has to be used. A standard MIDI cable is not fitting as here the pins 1 and 3 may be unconnected.

Energy meter

An electric meter or energy meter is a machine that measures the amount of electrical energy supplied to a residence or business. They may also record other variables including the time, when the electricity was used. Modern electricity meters operate by continuously measuring the instantaneous voltage and current (amperes) and finding the product of these to give direct electrical power (watts) which is then integrated against time to give energy used (joules, kilowatt-hours etc). The meters fall into two essential categories, electromechanical and electronic. The type of meter described commonly used on a single-phase AC supply. A reliable multicast protocol may ensure consistency on a per-recipient basis, as well as provide strong reliability properties that relate the delivery of data to different recipients, such as e.g. total order, atomicity, or virtual synchrony.
Reliable protocols normally incur more overhead than unreliable protocols, and as a result, are slower and less scalable. This often isn't an issue for unicast protocols, but it may be a difficulty for multicast protocols. TCP, the main protocol used in the Internet today, is a reliable unicast protocol. If however, the team that bats last exceeds the opposing team's run total before its batsmen are dismissed, it is said to have win by (n) wickets, where (n) is the difference between the number of wickets conceded and 10.If, in a two-innings-a-side match, one team's combined first and second innings total fails to reach its opponent's first innings total, there is no need for the opposing team to bat again and it is said to have won by an innings and (n) runs, where (n) is the variation between the two teams' totals.

If all the batsmen of the team batting last are dismissed with the scores closely equal then the match is a tie; ties are very rare in matches of two innings a side. In the traditional form of the game, if the time allotted for the match expires before either side can win, then the game is a draw. If the match has only a single innings per side, then a highest number of deliveries for each innings is frequently imposed. Such a match is called a limited overs or one-day match, and the side scoring more runs wins anyway of the number of wickets lost, so that a draw cannot occur. If this kind of match is temporarily intermittent by bad weather, then a complex mathematical formula known as the Duckworth-Lewis method is often used to recalculate a new target score. A one-day match can be declared a No-Result if fewer than a up to that time agreed number of overs have been bowled by either team, in circumstances that make normal recommencement of play impossible.

Table

In relational databases, SQL databases, and flat file databases, a table is a set of data elements that is controlled using a model of horizontal rows and vertical columns. The columns are identified by name, and the rows are identified by the values appearing in a particular column division which has been identified as a candidate key. Table is another term for family although there is the difference in that a table is usually a multi-set of rows whereas a relation is a set and does not allow duplicates. A table has a particular number of columns but can have any number of rows. Besides the actual data rows, tables generally have related with them some meta-information, such as constraints on the table or on the values within particular columns.

The data in a table does not have to be actually stored in the database. Views are also relational tables, but their data is considered at query time. In non-relational systems, such as hierarchical databases, the isolated counterpart of a table is a structured file, representing the rows of a table in each record of the file and each column in a record.

Bond

In finance, a bond is a debt security, in which the authorized issuer owes the holders a debt and is grateful to repay the principal and interest at a later date, termed maturity. Nodes are the individual actors within the networks, and ties are the associations between the actors. Research in a number of academic fields has shown that social networks operate on many levels, from families up to the level of nations, and play a serious role in determining the way problems are solved, organizations are run, and the degree to which individuals succeed in achieving their goals.

In its simplest form, a social network is a map of all of the appropriate ties between the nodes being studied. Most locking designs block the finishing of the process requesting the lock until it is allowed to access the locked resource. A spin lock is a lock where the thread simply waits until the lock becomes accessible. It is very efficient if threads are only likely to be uncreative for a short period of time, as it avoids the overhead of operating system process re-scheduling. It is wasteful if the padlock is held for a long period of time.

Color

Color is the visual perceptual possessions corresponding in humans to the categories called red, yellow, white, etc. Color derives from spectrum of light distribution of light energy versus wavelength interacting in the eye with the spectral sensitivities of the light receptors. Color categories and physical condition of color are also associated with objects, materials, light sources, etc., based on their physical properties such as light absorption, reflection, or emission spectra.

Typically, only features of the composition of light that are visible by humans wavelength spectrum from 400 nm to 700 nm, roughly are included, thereby objectively relating the psychological phenomenon of color to its physical specification. Because perception of color stems from the varying sensitivity of different types of cone cells in the retina to different parts of the spectrum, colors may be defined and quantify by the degree to which they stimulate these cells. These physical or physiological quantifications of color, however, do not fully clarify the psychophysical perception of color appearance.

The science of color is sometimes called chromatics. The expression television may also be used to refer specifically to a television set, programming or television transmission. The word is consequent from mixed Latin and Greek roots, meaning far sight. Since it first became commercially available from the late 1940s, the television set has become a general household communications device in homes and institutions, particularly in the first world, as a source of entertainment and news. Since the 1970s, video recordings on VCR tapes and later, digital playback systems such as DVDs, have enabled the television to be used to view recorded cinema and other programs.

A television system may be made up of multiple components, so a screen which lacks an internal tuner to accept the broadcast signals is called a monitor rather than a television. This is the most common method of recording popular music. Multitracking can be achieved with analogue, tape based, equipment from simple cassette based 4/8 trackers to 2" reel to reel 24 track machines , digital equipment that relies on tape storage of recorded digital data such as ADAT 8 track machines and hard disk based systems, often employing a computer and multitrack audio recording software.

Multitrack recording devices vary in their specifications, such as the number of simultaneous tracks available for recording at any one time; in the case of tape based systems this is limited by, among other factors, the physical size of the tape employed. For computer based systems the trend is towards unlimited numbers of record/playback tracks, although issues such as memory and CPU available will in fact limit this from machine to machine. It has to be noted that on computer based systems, the number of simultaneously available recording tracks is limited by the sound card discrete analogue or digital inputs.

Mortgage

A mortgage is a method of using property as security for the payment of a debt. See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property.

In many countries it is normal for home purchases to be funded by a mortgage. Usually, the abuse of the mortgage is a default in payment of a promissory note, secured by a lien on the property. When the transaction is complete, it is normally said that the lender has foreclosed its mortgage or lien.

In US, there are two kinds of foreclosure in common law states. Using a deed in lieu of foreclosure, the bank claims the title and possession of the property back in full satisfaction of a debt, usually on contract. Many states needs the latter sort of proceeding in some or all cases of foreclosure, in order to protect any equity the debtor may have in the property, in case the value of the debt being foreclosed on is significantly less than the market value of the immovable assets.

Population policy in China

With a population of over 1.3 billion, the PRC is very worried about its population growth and has attempted with mixed results to implement a strict family planning policy. The changes may progress more quickly than in most other fields of human activity. Most supermarkets also sell a variety of other household products that are consumed regularly, such as alcohol where permitted, household cleaning products, medicine, clothes, and some sell a much wider range of non-food products.

The traditional supermarket occupies a large floor space on a single level and is situated near a residential area in order to be convenient to consumers. Its basic appeal is the availability of a broad selection of goods under a single roof at relatively low prices. Other advantages include ease of parking and, frequently, the convenience of shopping hours that extend far into the evening. Supermarkets usually make massive outlays for newspaper and other advertising and often present elaborate in-store displays of products. Supermarkets are often part of a chain that owns or controls sometimes by franchise other supermarkets located in the same or other towns; this increases the opportunities for economies of scale.

In North America, supermarket chains are often supplied from the distribution centers of a larger business, such as Loblaw Companies in Canada, which owns thousands of supermarkets across the nation. They have a distribution center in every province — usually in the largest city in the province.

Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is a biological course by which an animal physically develops after birth or hatching, involving a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal's form or structure through cell growth and differentiation. Some insects, amphibians, molluscs, crustaceans, echinoderms and tunicates undertake metamorphosis, which is usually accompanied by a change of habitat or behavior. Scientific usage of the term is exclusive, and is not applied to common aspects of growth, including rapid growth spurts. References to “metamorphosis” in mammals are imprecise and only colloquial.

Metamorphosis usually proceeds in distinct stages, usually starting with larva or nymph, optionally passing through pupa, and ending as adult. The immature stages of a species that metamorphoses are regularly called larva. But in the complex metamorphosis of many insect species, only the first stage is called a larva and sometimes even that bears a different name; the distinction depends on the nature of the metamorphosis.

Permanent makeup

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face, lips and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost it as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast's areola, such as after breast surgery.

Other names used are dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, permanent cosmetics and cosmetic tattooing. These procedures are regulated in many countries and states, many of them requiring a registered professional, such as an esthetician, dermatologist or plastic surgeon to perform it. In the United States and other countries, the inks used in permanent makeup and the pigments in these inks are subject to FDA regulation as cosmetics and color additives.

Lilium

The plants of the genus Lilium are the true lily plants, comprising a genus of about 100 species in the lily family, Liliaceae. They are vital as showy and large flowered garden plants, and in literature. Lilies are inhabitant to the northern temperate regions. Their range in the Old World extends across much of Europe, the north Mediterranean, across most of Asia to Japan, south to the Nilgiri Mountains in India, and south to the Philippines. In the New World they expand from southern Canada through much of the United States. A few species formerly included within this genus have now been placed in other genera.

These include Cardio crinum and Nomocharis. They are commonly modified to either woodland habitats, often montane, or sometimes to grassland habitats. A few can survive in marshland and a single one is known to live as an epiphyte.
